The automatic control software course “Introduction to digital control” deals with the following subjects:
- Structure and behaviour of continuous and time discrete control systems, their analogies and differences
- The characterization of linear transfer elements by their step response and the graphical evaluation of their characteristic values
- The transformation of differential equations into discrete equations as well as the z – transformation
- The qualitative evaluation of the control system dynamics based on specific performance criteria (reference/disturbance reaction, overshooting, settling time, …)
- The design of digital PID controllers by means of simple optimization guidelines
