The automatic control software course “Cascade and state control” deals with the following subjects:
- The characterization of linear transfer elements by their step response and the graphical evaluation of their characteristic values
- The design of single loop control systems with PID controllers by means of optimization guidelines
- The improvement of the control system dynamics by using inner states of the plant (cascade control)
- The characterization of linear systems in state space representation
- The design of linear state controllers by pole placement or Riccati
